Lesbian* Visibility Day in the European Parliament
Hosted by Malin Björk MEP

26 April 2018, 12.30-14.00
Please RSVP here before Thursday 19 April: https://goo.gl/forms/j36Gh4dzbniXrxSo2
On the occasion of the International Lesbian Visibility Day, Malin Björk MEP, the European Parliament Intergroup on LGBTI Rights and the Europeanlesbianconference are happy to invite you to meet with lesbian activists from all over Europe.
They will talk about their actions and work – and why it is important (still) for lesbians* to reclaim public space and visibility in the LGBTIQ community, in the women’s right and feminist movement and in society as a whole. Invisibility and intersectional discrimination affect the lives of lesbians* in Europe and beyond and weaken lesbian* spaces and NGOs working on lesbian* issues.
Speakers
➡ Karima Zahi, Europeanlesbianconference Rapporteur and EL*C Board Member
➡ Kika Fumero, coeducator and LGBT activist and Marta Fernández, founder of LesWorking, lesbian networking
➡ Aderonke Apata, founder of African Rainbow Family, lesbian refugee in UK
➡ Marija Vuletic, Co-Chair of ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey, lesbian activist from Bosnia and Herzegovina
➡ Irena Moozova, Director for Equality and Union Citizenship at EU Justice and Consumers
(EL*C uses “lesbian*” with an asterisk so as to include anyone who identifies as lesbian, trans lesbian, intersex, feminist, bi or queer, and all others who identify with lesbian* activism).
